Theatre Rental Agreement

About the Theatre

  • The theatre is housed in an 1840 brownstone in Greenwich Village.
  • The theatre is a black box (18' x 24').
  • Stage is raised.
  • Seating capacity: 65-70 cushioned theatre seats.
  • Lighting system: NSI 7516 computer lighting board.
  • Tape deck, CD player, sound system crossfader.
  • Spotlight.
  • Discoball.
  • Handicapped accessibility: 4 steps down into theatre lobby; two steps up and four steps down theatre aisle.

Please note: All prices are based on 1 1/2 hour performance time with 1/2 hour set-up and 1/2 hour strike.

Sunday, Monday, Tuesday evening $275 per performance *
Wednesday, Thursday evening $325 per performance **
Friday, Saturday evening $375 per performance ***
Matinee performance rates vary

Please note: If 13th Street Rep must cancel one of their own performances to accommodate the rental, there is a performance cancellation fee of $100*, $150**, or $200*** based on the day of the week.

Additional Services

  • Theatre rehearsal rate--$45/hour up to 6PM. $55/hour after 6PM.
  • Rehearsal room rate (11' x 13')--$17/hour up to 6pm; after 6pm $20 an hour.
  • Technician to run each performance--$125 per performance. If the show is technically difficult, the fee will be higher. (Please note: you may use your own technician. Technicians must be trained to operate the light/sound booth correctly).
  • Technician training--$75.
  • Tech rehearsal reservation must be made two weeks prior to performance.
  • Piano rental--$15/hour.
  • Pianist--negotiable rate.
  • Reservation desk--$25 per performance.
  • Box office staff--$25 per performance.
  • Press Release--$150.
  • Set storage space is minimal--price is according to needs.
  • Program design and layout through completion -- negotiable.  (Graphic
    design must be supplied.)

Payment Schedule

  • Rehearsals are paid when booked.
  • All other expenses except those listed below are to be paid in advance.
  • A deposit of 1/2 the amount of each performance is due upon contract signing.
  • Balance for all performances must be paid and received one week prior to the first performance.
  • In case of cancellation, the deposit is not refundable.
  • Discounts available.
