Mary Bryant By Tom O’Neil Ran March 6, 2004 - April 10, 2004 Based on a true story. Mary Bryant tells the tale of a woman who, in
the late 1700’s was sent to the penal colony of Botany Bay for stealing
a scarf, and how upon her recapture and return to England, author James
Boswell struggles to see that injustice is not once again thrust upon
Mary. Opposing them are powerful political forces which will do anything
to prevent the public from learning of the harsh realities of the penal
system, and the tragedies that befell Mary because of it.

In Rebel Country Directed by James Stover Ran January 22, 2004 - February 28, 2004 About the Production: Kevin Barry (playwright) is a native New Yorker and a member of The Dramatists Guild of America, Inc. His plays, which have been produced in Los Angeles, New York, Chicago, Denver and Cincinnati, include Track & Field (American Theatre Critics Association nominee for Best New Play of 2002); Distracted by the Landscape (Six month run at Moving Arts in Los Angeles); and In Rebel Country (Winner of a 2003 Ohio Arts Council Fellowship). James Stover (director) has directed such works as Santaland Diaries,
Songs for a New World, and For Whom the Southern Belle Tolls. Thirteenth
Street Repertory Directing credits include Wiseacre Farm and assistant
director for their mainstage musical Save Me the Waltz. As a playwright,
his recently produced works include Sparse Reality (Dobama Theatre-Cleveland),
Frat Boy Voice Mail (Orlando Festival of New Plays), and the upcoming
Prometheus and Sissyphis (MadLab Theatre-Columbus). As an actor, James
has also performed regionally with the Utah Shakespearean Festival (two
seasons) and the Mapleleaf Theater (Lobby Hero). James holds a BFA in
Musical Theatre from Otterbein College. |
