Mary Bryant

By Tom O’Neil
Directed by Constantine Tariloff

Ran March 6, 2004 - April 10, 2004

Based on a true story. Mary Bryant tells the tale of a woman who, in the late 1700’s was sent to the penal colony of Botany Bay for stealing a scarf, and how upon her recapture and return to England, author James Boswell struggles to see that injustice is not once again thrust upon Mary. Opposing them are powerful political forces which will do anything to prevent the public from learning of the harsh realities of the penal system, and the tragedies that befell Mary because of it.
