Her adaptation of A Christmas Carol has had eight NYC productions and numerous productions around the U.S. The play is published in the U.S. by Brooklyn Publishers in Odessa TX, and has been translated into French by French playwright Christian Palustran and into German by German playwright Christian Michalak. The French/English volume, Un Conte de Noel, has been published in France and may be purchased through Amazon.fr. It has been performed in Switzerland at the Atelier-Theatre "Les compagnons du Coteau", in Paris-France, in Lyon-France and in Belgium. Quote from NYTheatre.com: "There are only two versions of A Christmas Carol that are a must see: the production at Madison Square Garden and Sandra Nordgren's adaptation."

Sandra co-wrote a full-length play in quadrameter, entitled Old Witch Blinda on Smeltzburg Hill, which is in workshop development after having had three readings. Another reading is scheduled in 2008. She has written several screenplays and is currently writing a non-fiction screenplay dealing with spirituality and the holocaust.  Sandra studied creative writing at New York City's New School University, New York University and The Writer's Voice.

In 1998 and 2001 Sandra developed and implemented a highly successful theatre program for the disadvantaged that included homeless children and their families, children in foster care with their birth parents, battered women, and families with one or more adults in drug rehab. Nearly 600 homeless people, battered women, inner-city high school students, children in foster care with their natural parents, and inner-city Girl Scouts attended the production of Sandra’s adaptation of A Christmas Carol. With the financial help provided through grants from some of the facilities along with additional funds, goods, and services she raised, each person attended the production, received several gifts, and was given a free meal at McDonald's on 14th Street and 6th Avenue.  Many attending said that the entire experience was terrific, brought their families closer together and they would remember this holiday for many years to come.

Sandra acquires, supervises and trains students (14 - 23 years old) in all aspects of theatre, from administrative, to technical, to writing, to script analysis, to house management, to assistant directing. Since 1996 she has recruited and mentored hundreds of students from all over the world.  For recent mentorships, Sandra recruited and mentored: summer 2003 … 26 interns; summer 2004 … 33 interns; summer 2005 … 36 interns; summer 2006 … 36 interns; summer 2007 … 41 interns.

At Thirteen Street Repertory Company Sandra has been the Executive Producer for at least 70 productions.  She is a member of the Dramatist Guild, the New York Coalition of Professional Women in the Arts & Media and the League of Professional Theatre Women.
