| Rudy Gray: (Resident Playwright) won three John Golden Playwriting awards, a Creative Artists Public Service Award for Playwriting, first prize for the 2004 New Works of Merit Playwriting Contest and a Writers Guild of America Screenwriting Fellowship. He was also nominated for an AUDELCO Award for excellence in theatre. Many of his plays have been produced around the country, including Trio by the Frederick Douglass Creative Arts Center, Before The Flood by The AMAS Repertory Theatre, Linty Lucy and Medea and the Doll at The Frank Silvera Writers Workshop, the latter also at The North Carolina Black Repertory Theatre, at the Ivar Theatre in Hollywood, in Fort Worth, Texas and in Knoxville, Tennessee. His screenplay rewrite, Solomon Northup: My Twelve Years as a Slave, presented on Channel 13 by PastAmerica Productions, is now at Blockbuster Video as Half Slave, Half Free. D’N’D’ published by iUniverse Press is his first novel. His award-winning play Conversation with a Kleagle was produced by 13th Street Repertory Company February 16 – April 12, 2006. |
