A Fund-raising Production of the Tony-Award-Nominated play

Rudy and Max, homosexuals in Nazi Berlin, unknowingly invite a person on the Nazi’s wanted list into their home. Guilty by association and also because they are homosexuals, the Gestapo hunts them down as ardently as Jews. En route to Dachau, Rudy is slain, and the horrified Max is befriended by Horst, who schools Max in the brutal realities of war. He and Horst form a strong, psychic bond, and although they cannot touch one another on fear of death, they become lovers through vivid, imaginative “lovemaking.” They rely on each other for companionship, affection, and simply to maintain their sanity.

REVIEW BY NYTHEATRE.COM:

"This is catharsis.”

"You feel the pain so viscerally due to the genuine and simple acting that
Gold draws from his cast …

Nicholoff contains an authentic emotional honesty … Nicholoff's primary
counterparts -- Ed Davis as Rudy and Jim Halloran as Horst -- perform with
likewise expertise."

I can only wish all young theatre companies are this brave -- and that
they succeed as beautifully as this production … I just hope that New
York's theatergoers are this brave too."
